PhD IN DATA ANALYTICS

[RESEARCH EDUCATION]  The PhD program at ESSEC Business School presents its Data Analytics concentration to foster research in econometrics, machine learning, risk analysis, statistics and related topics
in data science.

With campuses in Paris, Singapore and Rabat, ESSEC hosts a growing group of international researchers on data science and related topics. Hosted by the Department of Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics, our core faculty in Data Analytics currently includes Pierre Alquier (starting in 2023), Guillaume Chevillon, Jeremy Heng, Pierre Jacob, Olga Klopp, Marie Kratz, Guillaume Lecué, Mohamed Ndaoud, Roberto Renò (starting in 2023) and Jeroen Rombouts.

Many researchers at ESSEC work on related topics, for example as part of the Metalab for Data, Technology and Society and the Center of Research in Econo-finance and Actuarial sciences on Risk.

The program is open to excellent students trained in any field related to data science: statistics, machine learning, mathematics, econometrics, computer science, engineering, etc.
Instructions to apply can be found here:
https://www.essec.edu/en/program/phd-en/phd-program/admission/

The next round of the applications closes on January 15, 2023. Applications require CV, three
reference letters, official transcripts and copies of diplomas, GMAT or GRE score, and TOEFL
or IELTS score for non-native English speakers.

This is a four-year program. The first two years are primarily dedicated to coursework to consolidate and deepen knowledge in data analytics. Research is introduced progressively to become the primary focus at the end of the second year. Note: students with a particularly strong background in data analytics can take fewer courses and focus on research earlier.

For any question, please contact Pierre Jacob, coordinator of the program, at pierre.jacob@essec.edu.
